When found K-3 Teacher Resources , I found a gold mine of materials. They  provide printable hands on materials that you can easily incorporate in your classroom. They offer free materials but in order to get the good stuff, you have to subscribe for $17 and it's well worth it. Your subscription allows access for an entire year. Ok enough with the advertisement lol I came across there number matching cards from 10-100 which consist of the numeral, the written word and a corresponding place value card. The ideas and lessons you can create with these are limitless ! All you have to do is print them out, cut them and laminated them (for durability though not necessary)   By the time you are done cutting them out, you will have over 20 cards. I placed them in separate ziploc bags so they don't get mixed up. We made a huge number chart on the floor from 1 to 100 (to get the numbers 1-9, I printed from their number 1-10 matching game ) I let my 3 year old help while calling out t

I am now working on syllables with my son and wanted to make something that he could refer to. There is only so much room on a wall for posters and I have already met my limit :) so I have been scaling my reference materials down a bit and have been creating things that take up a lot less space, yet efficient enough in content for mastering comprehension.  I started my web surfing and almost immediately cam across this gem. I found this site with syllabication rules already formatted for printing and cutting. I printed them out, laminated them, and punched a hole in the upper right hand corner. If you don't have a laminator, you can print the sheets out on cardstock paper for more durability. I used a plastic loose leaf snap ring to keep the cards together. Since starting the ning site a few months back I have been on a little hiatus trying to create a network but it's funny how you are brought back to your beginnings. Ning is charging people monthly for the use of their service and as much as I love created the space, that was out of my budget. I'm not upset though because you can't expect things to be free forever. I barely had the time to be as social as I would have liked but non the less made some really good friends and lasting relationships with other homeschooling moms and that's a blessing. I can now return to my blogging (when I have the time lol)
