INTRO

First and foremost, I want to say Peace, Blessings, and Balance to all those who are embarking on this phenomenal adventure we call "Homeschooling". Peace is a blessing all in it self, being able to homeschool is a blessing and God knows I try to maintain some form of balance every day. My children are 6, 4, 3 and 5 1/2 months. I am currently homeschooling them all except for the baby. Though, I must say, when I am reading to them she is absorbing every word. Before I began homeschooling, I never knew it existed until God blessed me with my husband. He being a homeschool graduate himself, I still did not really understand the concept. I thought "How can anyone teach there children at home without being around teachers. They're not going to learn anything." My ignorance led me to believe that you had to have some certification or training. When my oldest daughter was 2 years old, I began teaching her colors, shapes, numbers etc. still not knowing that what I was doing was homeschooling. When she turned 4 she had already learned he numbers, alphabet, colors etc. and showed an interest in reading. My sister gave me the Hooked On Phonics program amd I taught her how to read in 8 months. Then it clicked that I can teach her my self. I was already ahead of the game as far as preschool was concerned. She was beyond that. We started buying books all the time. We both signed up for library cards, and everything else is history. My eyes were opened and the ignorance was lifted. I started researching homeschooling from the different methods and styles to state requirements. I have been homeschooling for 3 years now and love every moment of it.
